Rated 5 out of 5Â by GuitarRebel More than happy...
I live in rural NC and at best I would get 2 bars on reception. Dropouts were common, as were difficulties in communicating with the person called, many more times than I care to count.
This extender not only raised my bars to a constant 4 or 5, but no more dropped calls. I even had to turn my phone volume down as the person I was talking to came across so loud and clear. The first person I called after I installed the extender (which was a piece of cake to install) commented on how clear she could hear me. The 'hollowness' was gone.
Another thing, web pages load tremendously faster and photos I send through texts are almost instantaneously transferred.
I couldn't be happier with it.

Using the expensive network extender, I was able to increase the 2-bar coverage provided by my expensive carrier to a steady 5 bars. No more dropped calls, period. Setup required a call to the carrier because the provided instructions didn't adequately describe the process of linking each phone to the extender.

A storm knocked out our power. When power was restored, my smartphone could do everything except receive and send calls. I took the phone beyond the reach of the network extender and was able to make calls. Returning to the network extender's area again interfered with calling. I power cycled the network extender and the phone was again able to use it for calls.
The network extender was in effect behaving like a cell phone signal jammer until it was power cycled. Otherwise, it has functioned as expected.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Rhinoculips Works well, but won't work with LTE feature turned on
We just received the unit yesterday. After getting it set up and connected to the network, we had troubles getting our iPhone 6's to connect to it. After spending some time with tech support, they instructed me to turn off my LTE.......
This worked, but if I want faster data transfer while out and about, I must now manually switch on my LTE. I could not find any mention of this anywhere on Verizon's website. Not cool Verizon!
Also, I have had "All circuits busy, please try again later" message twice in less than 2 hours. Hope this doesn't continue, as it would be a pain in the butt.
Over all, if you are desperate for better signal, this will work. It's just not perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by jmcu Went fron 0 to 4 bars / Should be a free part of your service
Easy to set up, works excellent. Was getting no signal in the house and lucky to get 1 bar outside. After the extender I get about 4 -5 bars in the house and about 2 bars outside.
Does not seem to effect the network when on the PC.
I think it is over priced. I should not have to pay to get reception to pay my cell phone bill. It should be a free item from Verizon if your their customer and are already paying a arm and a leg for their service..

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Shadygap Does exactly what I want it to!
It was not hard to set up although I only had the quick guide. I had a little problem and it said to refer the manual and there was no full manual, I had to find it online. It probably took about 20-25 minutes till it was completely operational. I went from 1 to 2 bars in the house to 4-5 bars. However I think it is pricey despite it doing what it should. Since I have been a long time customer, I believe it should have cost me about half that price!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Valara Haven't dropped a call since we got it !
Easy to set up, takes a little while for everything to "sync", but that is no more than 20 minutes. Works great 5 to 3 bars most of the time, prior to getting this it was 0-2 bars. My only complaint is ..... I think Verizon should furnish this if you have a signal that is so unreliable. I almost always dropped a call or was told I was breaking up before we got this. I would think that Verizon should adsorb the cost since it is their signal that is so weak to begin with. I was afraid that we would have an emergency and wouldn't be able to call for help, or have the call garbled or dropped. That said the extender does what it is supposed to do.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by davehul expensive but does what it says
i wasn't happy about the price of this extender but given the hills around our house I didn't have much choice. My wife was constantly complaining about dropped calls, cutouts, no reception, missed calls, etc. I discovered I was also missing calls when at home. It's been three weeks since installation I haven't heard a peep from her. We have great reception thoughout the house.

Purchased this extender end of 2010 and went from a maybe 1 bar if you don't move when you got it. But in a rural, wooded, mountain area in Ozark Mountains, live in a metal sided metal roofed house and have never lost signal unless power goes off but then I use a generator till it comes back on, takes a few minutes to get the signal back. With it being 3 years figured it was time to write a review this is a wonderful product. Little on the pricey side but will pay for its self in a few years

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Moon52 0 to 5 bars within 10 mins. of set up!
We received our Network Extender last night, set it up in 5mins. 5mins after that and WOW!!! 0 to 5 bars!!! We live in a heavily wooded area in Illinois and have always had bad reception. We came back to Verizon (from US Cellular) for the hope that this extender would solve our problems... Thanks Verizon!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by LiquidFlames Tricky to set up; otherwise fantastic!
I admit I was very skeptical about this product. I called customer care first, though, and the assured me it has a 14 day return policy if it doesnâ¿¿t work out. With nothing to lose, I decided to at least give it a shot.
Before the Network Extender, 80% of the time I had zero bars everywhere in my apartment. I would get one bar for a few seconds every ten minutes or so. Making calls was impossible. Sending text messages was spotty. Sometimes theyâ¿¿d send, sometimes theyâ¿¿d fail. Sending/receiving photos I did with email via Wi-Fi instead of messaging. I even dropped my text messaging plan because I was relying so heavily on Google Voice to text. It sends over Wi-Fi instead of the wireless network. Google Voice, though, doesnâ¿¿t have the ability to send or receive picture messages, the app is sluggish and the UI is primitive. It was a Band-Aid at best.
After setting up the Network Extender I get full signal (-40 to -50dbm) everywhere in my apartment. Making calls is flawless, texting works perfectly, picture messages send without a problem.
I am completely shocked and blow away at how well this product works. I hate that I need it â¿¿ the Verizon network is kind of a let-down in this area â¿¿ but they are mostly redeemed by offering this product and the fact that it works so well.
I do have one word of warning, though. It takes some finagling to get this thing set up just right to work at peak performance. Follow the instructions exactly. Put it close to a window (which may be hard depending on your internet gateway/routerâ¿¿s location) and put it up about 4 to 6 feet off the floor. If it has trouble finding GPS, the cord provided for the GPS antenna is very long. Move the GPS antenna from inside the device and put it right in a window where it has good line of site with the sky. I had to set mine on a window sill and still had to use the GPS antenna wire to hang the GPS receiver right in the middle of the window. Once I figured out the perfect spot for it, though, it is flawless!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by CountryDiva Awesome Reception!
I live in a valley between mountains where I had absolutely zero cell phone reception unless I drove the ten miles into town from my home. I was told there was nothing I could do to get service. I decided to try the Network Extender. The installation went very quickly. It did take a while to find a signal, which I figured it would since I live so far out of a service area. The instructions say it can take up to 15 minutes to find a signal, I gave it close to 45 before it was 100% up and running. Like I said, I had absolutely no cell phone reception before - with the network extender installed, I can be anywhere in my home and receive full bars and 3G speeds - way better than I expected given my location! Definitely worth the signal search wait!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by RPG67 From 0 to 3G in twenty mins
We live in rural Mountainous area and love it. It does have its pros and cons though, for years we saw technology advance beyond our comprehension
Cellular coverage here is almost non existent, We actually had a rock approx 100 yards from our house marked where we could sometimes make a phone call or send a text.
Our internet choices were dial up or satellite. dial up internet was at a crawl and satellite was expensive and unreliable. ( you cannot use this Network Extender with satellite internet).
Approximately one year ago we paid to have cable installed on our road.
Overnight we entered the 21st century with Downloads, Uploads, Streaming, wi-fi we had it all. But still did not have one bar of service on our smartphones.
We ordered the Network Extender from Verizon and were amazed at how well it works.
It came Fed Ex in two days and we had it up and running in less than thirty mins.
We now have 4 bars of 3G service in our home and can text, talk and browse the internet using Verizon data plan.
Bottom line If you have no cell service at your home and have DSL or Cable internet this will likely give you 3G service and is well worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by birdluck Watch out for metal window screens
My signal went from one bar with poor sound quality to three or four bars all over the house. It is well worth the money. The GPS will not work if the window has a metal screen on it, so I used the antenna extension to put the antenna next to the glass and outside of the screens which are on the inside in my house. If your screens are outside, you might have remove the screen from that window.

For whatever reason I have a dead spot in my house where receiving and dropping calls is a first rate problem. The setup was complete in minutes. Now when my phone rings it jumps from 2 bars to 4 throughout the house and it covers my dead spot. I am pleased with the performance so far. Dropped calls are a thing of the past.
