Are there other options available if the 5,000 line requirements cannot be met?

The minimum line requirement does not mean that only resellers with at least 5,000 lines can resell Verizon Wireless service. All it means is that the wholesale channel isn't an option for everyone. A reseller with fewer than 5,000 lines can always purchase and resell our service through our retail channel's corporate accounts and get discounts that are offered in retail based on the number of lines or revenue commitment.

If I become a corporate account, what will be different in how I do business as a reseller?

If you plan to resell Verizon Wireless service as a corporate account, you will need to sign a corporate account agreement that will contain terms and conditions governing your resale of our service. For example, you will be required to provide a letter of credit, you will be responsible for all customer service functions, and you will not be allowed to use the Verizon Wireless name in marketing your service. The wholesale policy regarding the 5,000-line minimum does not apply if you resell Verizon Wireless retail service; however, there may be line minimums associated with certain rate plans/discounts.

How will I bill my customers if I choose to become a corporate account?

Generally, you will receive either a CD-ROM or paper invoice. As new billing options become available you can request those subject to any applicable terms and conditions. A corporate account representative can review these options in greater detail.

What discounts will I get as a corporate account?

Generally speaking, corporate accounts may be eligible for discounts off of Verizon Wireless retail rates if they meet certain line or revenue commitments. The amount of discount increases in proportion to the line or revenue commitment that is contained in your agreement.

Can I resell prepaid services as a corporate account?

No. Verizon Wireless does not offer prepaid service on corporate account plans. You may, however, consider becoming a subagent or dealer of a reseller that provides prepaid service. Alternatively, you may wish to consider applying to become a Verizon Wireless Authorized Retailer. Authorized Retailers purchase Verizon Wireless-branded retail prepaid cards at a discount and sell them to Verizon Wireless customers at the stated face value.

Will I be able to purchase phones directly from Verizon Wireless as a corporate account?

This will vary by Area. You will need to check with your corporate account executive.

How do I become a reseller?

If after reviewing the information on this website you have additional questions or would like to speak to a representative, please complete the information below. A Verizon Wireless account manager will contact you to answer any questions. If you decide to proceed further, the prospective reseller will then be directed to complete the Application for Wholesale Status.

How long does the application process take?

Provided that all information is complete and accurate on the wholesale application, it takes a minimum of 4-6 weeks to process the wholesale application and perform background checks. Any applications that are not complete in their entirety will be returned for completion further delaying the application processing time.

How long does it take to get set up?

Verizon Wireless must have a signed and executed wholesale agreement along with all of the other required conditions or documents before the account setup can begin. Setting up your accounts in contracted areas of interest is a complex process involving several systems, including account provisioning, number inventory assignment, and billing media. Although Verizon Wireless makes every effort to provide service expeditiously, our setup period varies depending upon territories and service of interest. For planning purposes allow up to 90 days for completion of the account setup. Specific timing guidelines regarding the account setup will be explained prior to implementation.

What type of support can I expect as a reseller?

An account manager serves as a primary interface from initial discussions through setup as well as when you are an established reseller. An operations consultant will provide ongoing support in the areas of number inventory and billing questions

What type of customer service support is provided?

All service inquiries from a reseller's customers are the responsibility of the reseller. The Verizon Wireless Wholesale Operations Support Team (WOST) provides to the reseller's customer service group first tier support for trouble resolution and remote system support in the event of an extended Verizon Wireless controlled system outage.

What is the deposit requirement?

Financial protection in the form of a Letter of Credit is required of all resellers. Each potential reseller is required to provide Verizon Wireless with two years of audited financial statements (balance sheet/income statement). However, if your company has been in existence for fewer than two years, we will review financial information for the length of time you have been in business. If audited statements are not available, you may provide un-audited financial statements and tax returns. Upon receipt of the financial information, Verizon Wireless will perform a credit evaluation to determine the financial protection requirement.

What type of billing media is available to resellers?

All Verizon Wireless resellers must be able to support NDM for their billing media. The billing media is in one standard format. The preferred billing media is transmission via NDM, but CD ROM is also available.

How does Verizon Wireless protect resellers from fraud?

It is the reseller's responsibility to detect its customer fraud. Verizon Wireless provides the necessary tools and training to enable the reseller to monitor its customer MINs as they deem necessary.

Will Verizon Wireless allow direct connection to its Mobile Switching Center ("switch") for the reseller?

No. Verizon Wireless does not allow any reseller direct connect to its switch.

Will Verizon Wireless provide wireless handset inventory to the reseller?

Verizon Wireless maintains a list of approved handsets that can guide a reseller's purchase. If a reseller wants to use a handset and/or special software within a handset that is not on the approved handset list, the handset must be certified by Verizon Wireless prior to use.

Does Verizon Wireless require resellers to use a specific platform for prepaid services or can the reseller utilize a platform of its choice?
