M/W/DV BE Selection Criteria

When considering M/W/DV BE's, Primary Suppliers should keep in mind that Verizon Wireless looks for the following qualities in its suppliers:

  • Competitiveness and "value add" to business.
  • Proven track record and references.
  • Good financial standing.
  • Quality processes (ISO 9000 or equivalent).
  • Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for product purchases & payments.
  • Core competency in supplier's line of business.
  • Understanding of Verizon Wireless's Business.
  • Ability to market company aggressively.
  • Ability to provide multiple services and serve multiple customers.
  • Certification as an M/W/DV BE entity in USA.

Verizon Wireless accepts certification from state or federal agencies, Small Business Administration (SBA), Native American Business Alliance (NABA), US Pan Asian Chamber of Commerce, Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC and affiliates) California Utilities Clearinghouse or Association for Service Disabled Veterans.

Verizon Wireless may require its primary suppliers, who are not certified as M/W/DV BEs, to provide Tier 2/subcontracting opportunities to M/W/DV BEs, consistent with Verizon Wireless policy.
