Backup Your Contacts & Activate a New Phone

To activate an existing phone, sign in to My Verizon.
Step 1

Backup Your Contacts with Backup Assistant

Before you activate your new phone, use Backup Assistant to save and transfer your contacts.

This step is optional and the service does not apply to all phone makes and models.

Step 2

Enter Your New Device's ESN/MEID Number

If you are activating a replacement or upgraded phone, be sure your old phone is turned off before you begin.

You will also need your Order Number found on your customer receipt (in your phone shipment), and last 4 digits of account holder's social security number.

  • Remove the cover and battery from the back of your phone
