Caller ID allows you to see the caller's phone number before you take the call. Caller ID may display the number of the person calling on your wireless phone (for all unblocked numbers). It may also display the name of the person if you've stored it in your phone's memory. Calls can usually be returned by pressing one button.
City ID is an enhanced mobile Caller ID service that displays the city and state information of each incoming call. For more information on City ID, visit the City ID FAQ page.
Caller ID Blocking allows you to block your number from being displayed through Caller ID, and can either be done permanently or temporarily.
How to Get It
Caller ID is an included feature that is typically added to your account when you first activate service. To confirm you have this feature:
If you have multiple lines on your account, select your device and click Next.
Scroll down to the Additional Features section, and check to see if CURRENT FEATURE is listed next to Caller ID. This indicates the feature is active on your account.
Note: If it isn’t active, click the Add button next to Caller ID and click Next at the bottom of the page. Then follow the onscreen prompts to add the feature to your account.
Caller ID Blocking is an included feature on your account that can be activated either on a call-by-call basis or applied to all calls you make. You don’t need to do anything to get this feature. Refer to the How to Use It section below for instructions on activating it as needed.
How to Use It
Caller ID will automatically work if you:
Have a Caller ID-capable phone
Have the Caller ID feature activated on your account
Are in an area that supports Caller ID
Caller ID Blocking Use the steps below to have the words "Private," "Anonymous," “Restricted Number” or some other indicator appear instead of your phone number:
On a single call – Dial *67 + the number
On all calls to a specific number – Dial *82 + the number
