LAPORTE, IN — DLI, a leading manufacturer of rugged tablet and in-vehicle computers today announced that the DLI 8400 Ultra-Mobile Rugged Tablet is now Verizon 3G Network Certified. The Verizon Wireless 3G network will provide DLI customers the ability to communicate and collaborate throughout the entire mobile enterprise.

Committed to providing best-in-class integrated wireless technologies, the DLI 8400 delivers mobile broadband connectivity via an embedded Sierra Wireless MC5727 radio. This wireless enhancement enables DLI 8400 users to leverage faster data transmission speeds, both upload and download, resulting in more efficient and reliable access to enterprise-critical information.

The DLI 8400 Ultra-Mobile Rugged Tablet was declared Verizon 3G Network Certified through Verizon Wireless’ Open Development program, which is designed to offer mobile device manufacturers the access and support necessary to engage in the mobile enterprise market.

“The DLI 8400 is an ideal device for mobile enterprise and field service users who demand increased speed, flexibility and reliability as part of their work,” said Aparna Khurjekar, executive director of Business Solutions at Verizon Wireless. “As businesses looks to drive the productivity of their field workforce, they’ve come to depend on the reliability and speed of Verizon’s Wireless 3G mobile network. These customers will also appreciate the reliability and performance of the DLI 8400 rugged tablet computer.”

Representing the best in small-format rugged mobile computing, the UMPC-style DLI 8400 combines multiple and concurrent wireless radio options including WiFi, WWAN, GPS, and Bluetooth along with field payment, dual color cameras and data capture features - all in a single portable unit.

As a result of its robust feature set and rugged design, the DLI 8400 is suited to a wide variety of harsh environment applications including field service, police, fire and EMS, construction, and fleet management.

“More and more customers are gravitating toward the DLI 8400 because of its durability, light weight and extensive feature set”, says DLI president, Bryan Wesolek. “With the DLI 8400 in the hands (and vehicles) of their mobile workforce, our customers are now able to accomplish more than they ever dreamed possible while out in the field. Capturing data, communicating with customers, and collaborating throughout the enterprise requires a wireless network that is as reliable as it is incredibly fast. For DLI, bringing the DLI 8400 to Verizon Wireless’ network was an obvious choice.”
