Following in the footsteps of the Motorola XOOM, the DROID XYBOARD 10.1 tablet will begin upgrading to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The software upgrade will be pushed to customers in phases starting today.
In addition to app management and functionality improvements, Ice Cream Sandwich features Direct Access Lock Screen, giving users the option to open the camera, browser and gallery, or unlock directly from the lock screen.
The upgrade also comes with an enhanced notification bar that includes access to the settings menu and the ability to swipe individual notifications to dismiss them. Additionally, creating folders is easy by just dropping one app on top of another.
Additional information on the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade can be found on the DROID XYBOARD 10.1 support page.
