Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile Expands Its Supersystem Across The Carolinas

GREENVILLE, SC — Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile customers are seeing greater benefits, thanks to a recent expansion by the company into southwest North Carolina and northeast Georgia. By incorporating 16 new counties into the SuperSystem, Bell Atlantic

NYNEX Mobile has extended home-rate calling to its customers throughout over 33,000 square miles in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

The Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile SuperSystem now includes Henderson, Cleveland, Lincoln, McDowell, Rutherford and Polk Counties in North Carolina. The SuperSystem also now encompasses Lumpkin, Dawson, White, Habersham, Hall, Banks, Stephens, Franklin, Rabun and Barrow Counties in Georgia.

With benefit of the SuperSystem, Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile customers traveling into markets such as Charlotte, Hickory, Rockingham, Waynesville and Hendersonville, North Carolina; Columbia, Greenwood and Upstate South Carolina; and, Toccoa and Gainesville, Georgia will be charged for local airtime just as if they were calling in their own home town.

With Communications Stores in Shelby, Hendersonville, Marion, Rutherfordton, and Lincolnton in North Carolina and in Toccoa and Gainesville in Georgia, Bell Atlantia NYNEX Mobile has 25 locations to serve customer needs.
