PHILADELPHIA, PA — Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile customers in Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Ocean Counties can dial 411 on their cellular phones and have access to helpful information about weekend events, where to get beach tag rates or great restaurants in the shore area. This enhanced directory assistance service, called InfoAssist®, also provides automatic call completion within the four shore counties listed above.

Listings are available throughout the greater Philadelphia region, as well as the Washington/Baltimore and greater Northern NJ/New York markets. What's more, InfoAssist® is an information center, providing category searches such as movie theaters and listings; which celebrities are in town and where they are appearing; the nearest hotels and restaurants; towing services; casino show times; and even the Cape May-Lewes ferry schedule.

Using the service is simple. By dialing 411 or 555-1212 from their cellular phones, Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile customers reach operators who will search for a residential, business, or government listing. The operator will then automatically connect the call if it is within the four county area. Because the customer doesn't have to redial or write down phone numbers, he or she can concentrate on driving.

If customers need additional assistance, they can be routed back to the operator simply by pressing the "star" (*) key. This StarConnectsm feature can be used up to two times in a single call.

"With InfoAssist®, our customers can make hotel and restaurant reservations, purchase tickets for a show in Atlantic City, or find out what movie is playing nearby, simply by making one phone call," said Robert Stott, Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile regional president.

"With the introduction of InfoAssist®, customers traveling down to the shore can use the service as a local tour guide, providing information on the location of shops, restaurants, and hotels," said Stott. "It's an important service that adds real value to the investment Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile customers have made in acquiring cellular service."

The service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The call costs $.75 plus applicable airtime or roamer rates. Customers can still reach regular directory assistance by dialing the "pound"(#) key and the area code only.

InfoAssist® is currently offered throughout the greater Philadelphia area and is available at the shore through technology developed and provided by InfoNXX Inc., headquartered in Easton, PA.
