ATLANTA — GTE Wireless today announced the appointment of Ben Kahrnoff to the position of vice president-sales. Kahrnoff will be responsible for retail, commercial and indirect sales; sales support; national sales; and data sales for the company's 17-state operating territory.

Kahrnoff joined GTE in 1984. He held increasingly strategic positions in sales, marketing and distribution in Texas and the Midwest, before serving as area general manager, and later vice president/general manager, for GTE Wireless' California region. Most recently, he was assistant vice president-distribution.

Kahrnoff holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Michigan State University.
