ATHENS, Greece — Wish you could leave the guidebook behind while you travel and still learn about the Acropolis® Starting today, your wish is granted.

'Smart Tourist Guide' is the latest innovation available to Telestet's nearly one million Greek customers and the thousands of vacationers who flock to Greece and use their mobile phones on the company's intelligent digital network.

Telestet's network locates callers who dial "1230" within 500 meters of any one of 18 popular Greek sites and provides a vivid description in any one of four languages; English, German, Italian, or Greek. Smart Tourist Guide locations include the Acropolis, the National Archeological Museum, Ancient Olympia, Delphi and sites on several Greek islands.

Telestet is the only Greek mobile telephone provider with the service.

The messages, which can be up to four minutes long, are billed at the national rate based on tariff plans for Telestet customers or at the normal roaming rates for visiting callers.

"We are pleased to help everyone learn more about Greek art, history and culture through this innovative use of our Telestet network," said Dimitris Lolis, Executive Director of Marketing and Sales for Stet Hellas, owner of the Telestet brand.

Stet Hellas will promote the service in brochures on display throughout the country at major airports, harbors, hotels, tourist information booths and official Telestet dealer locations.

Travellers without mobile service on the European GSM standard can access Smart Tourist Guide by signing up for Telestet's pre-paid mobile service, B Free. Visitors can become Telestet customers by purchasing a handset and B Free start-up service at any one of hundreds of Telestet dealers, including the Telestet Exclusive kiosk at Athens International Airport. Because service is paid for in advance, there's no contract, no monthly bill, no hidden charges, and no waiting for service. For more information about Telestet services, visit www.telestet.gr.
