ROCHESTER, NY — Verizon Wireless, formerly Bell Atlantic Mobile, and the Buffalo Bills today jointly announced that Verizon Wireless has been selected as the "Official Wireless Provider" of the Bills for the next two years.

As the official wireless provider, Verizon Wireless will supply all wireless hardware and service for Bills players, coaches and staff. This agreement also provides Verizon Wireless with significant stadium signage and the opportunity to develop promotional programs with the Bills at their Rochester training camp, at Ralph Wilson Stadium, and at the company's retail outlets during the regular season. For example, ballots for the 2001 NFL Pro Bowl will be available at Verizon Wireless' more than 60 retail locations across Upstate New York to provide locations for fans to vote for their favorite players.

"We are thrilled to be working with the Buffalo Bills, Upstate New York's hometown team," said Tracy Nolan, president of Verizon Wireless' Upstate New York region. "The Bills are a celebrated component of the Upstate New York community and we're looking forward to the coming season both as fans and as the team's official wireless provider."

"Communications is a key component to our business on game day and throughout the season," said Russ Brandon, vice president, business development and marketing for the Buffalo Bills. "Utilizing Verizon Wireless' service, hardware and knowledge we have developed a communications strategy that meets all the needs of the organization."

In addition to providing wireless service to the team and promotional opportunities to fans, Verizon Wireless' Cell On Wheels (COW), a mobile cell site, will provide additional analog and digital wireless coverage in and around the stadium during all Bills' home games.
