Pasadena, CA and Bedminster, NJ — Ticketmaster Online-Citysearch, Inc. (NASDAQ: TMCS) the leading local online network, and Verizon Wireless, the largest wireless communications provider in the United States, today announced an alliance to offer Verizon Wireless Mobile Web customers access to relevant local information, transactions and ticketmaster.com tickets via their wireless handset. The alliance with Verizon Wireless provides the opportunity for Ticketmaster Online-Citysearch to offer Local Intelligence™, TMCS' unique combination of local information and editorial recommendations with related transactions capability, to Verizon Wireless' customer base of 25 million.

Verizon Wireless today launched its nationwide Mobile Web service, which combines the convenience and mobility of wireless communications with popular content from the World Wide Web. The Mobile Web service, which runs on Verizon Wireless' robust and reliable, coast-to-coast CDMA network, gives users access to the Web-based information they want via their wireless handset.

Wireless access to local information recommended by TMCS' award-winning content team with integrated transaction functionality will enable Verizon Wireless Mobile Web customers to help make the most of their free time. For example, Verizon Wireless Mobile Web customers will soon be able to use their Web-enabled wireless phone as a convenient information resource to quickly and easily plan their time and gain access to events at thousands of locations nationwide. In addition to searching, selecting and purchasing tickets for a variety of ticketmaster.com and citysearch.com arts, family, music and sporting events, TMCS' Local Intelligence™ will soon offer Verizon Wireless Mobile Web customers other transaction functionality, including restaurant reservations.

"We have an ideal platform for expanding the utility of wireless to include applications such as purchasing tickets and making reservations. Through ticketmaster.com and our network of citysearch.com guides, we help people seek out preferred local activities and events and then provide them the opportunity to act on these choices," said Paul LaFontaine, Vice President of Corporate Development at Ticketmaster Online-Citysearch. "Since we already develop and offer access to original content and transactions via the Internet, it is a natural move for us to be able to offer these applications via Web-enabled mobile phones and other wireless devices."

"This agreement represents our commitment to introduce a complete range of customized information services for our Mobile Web customers. Ticketmaster Online-Citysearch adds real value to the service, driving users to rely on their mobile phone as an indispensable source of information that follows them anywhere," said Marc Lefar, Verizon Wireless' staff vice president, e-Business, Wireless Internet and Data Services. "Mobile Web users have the ability to completely customize their wireless Internet experience based on their personal interests and needs, so if accessing local information and having the ability to make related transactions, such as purchasing an event ticket, are critical to a user, they can easily configure their service to make those capabilities prominent on their handset."

This announcement makes Verizon Wireless the first wireless carrier to join the TMCS Local Intelligence™ Mobile Alliance Program. They join TMCS' growing list of industry partners including AvantGo, Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERICY), NeoPoint, Nokia (NYSE: NOK), OmniSky, Palm Computing (NASDAQ: PALM), and Phone.com (NASDAQ: PHCM).
