IRVINE, Calif. — UCLA students can now buy "time" as well as books on campus. Verizon Wireless' newest kiosk has opened at UCLA. Located in the UCLA Store, Verizon Wireless' kiosk is the exclusive source for the latest cellular phones, and wireless voice, data and messaging services at UCLA.

"Students have very busy schedules - rushing from class to class while juggling assignments, extracurricular activities and often, jobs. On top of that, they may move again and again during their college years," said Mike Finley, regional president, Verizon Wireless. "A growing number of college students are relying on wireless communication to help them keep it all together --get things done, stay connected with family and friends, and, if necessary, call for help in an emergency."

"Having Verizon Wireless' comprehensive range of services available on campus is a fantastic service to students whose mobile lifestyles depend on wireless services," said Terence Hsiao, business development director, Associated Students, UCLA. "Verizon Wireless has brought the convenience of shopping for a wireless phone to the place our students shop anyway-the UCLA Store, the largest independent, campus bookstore in the country-making it easier for them to buy the wireless service that best suits their needs."

The Verizon Wireless' kiosk also offers the company's new Mobile Web service - personal wireless Internet access via mobile phones. Users can comparison shop, book airline flights, make restaurant reservations, receive daily horoscopes and keep up with favorite sports teams using Mobile Web. Students can also sign up for Verizon Wireless' Digital Plus plans, offering wireless users anytime minutes free of roaming charges anywhere in Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico and Hawaii.

Verizon Wireless' exclusive contract with UCLA allows for additional sites to be added in the future. The kiosk is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m., and is located at the UCLA Store at 308 Westwood Plaza Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90024 near Westwood Blvd. and Wilshire Blvd.
