INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Verizon Wireless has signed an agreement with Simon Property Group, Inc. to open new kiosks at Lafayette Square in Indianapolis, College Mall in Bloomington, Ind., and the Muncie Mall in Muncie, Ind. Verizon Wireless added the three new kiosks so potential customers can more easily pick up additional phones and accessories without leaving the malls.

"Kiosks give Verizon Wireless the opportunity to reach a large number of customers by virtue of their design and location in high traffic areas of shopping centers," said Dan Mock, regional president, Indiana Region, Verizon Wireless.

"We know Hoosier shoppers are busy and have limited time to shop for wireless phones. In particular, people are buying wireless gifts for elderly parents and teen drivers this holiday season. Additionally, many of our customers are adding wireless phones under the family calling plan. Having Verizon Wireless products available in the malls will make shopping easier for these customers," said Mock.

A part of the success of wireless products from kiosks' sales can be attributed to the use of prepaid products in the wireless industry. Prepaid products, which require no contract, are usually purchased quickly at a convenient location.

Formerly known in Indiana as GTE Wireless, Verizon Wireless was formed by the combination of the U.S. wireless businesses of Bell Atlantic Corp., GTE Corp and Vodafone.
