ASHEVILLE, NC — Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless communications provider, will open the doors to its second communications store in the Asheville area at 9 a.m. on Thurs., Feb. 1.

"Verizon Wireless recognized the need to expand its presence in Asheville," said Russell Stokes, store manager. "Now, customers may access the best quality service and technology Verizon Wireless has to offer at one of two convenient locations, including our new location at 1918 Hendersonville Road and our original location at 16 G Regent Park Road."

The new 2,600 square-foot communications store will feature a wide variety of wireless products and services. Among those products and services will be the popular SingleRateSM plans that offer one low rate with no roaming or long distance charges and a premier line of digital wireless phones and accessories. Mobile Web, the company's wireless Internet-access service, will also be available. The service provides easy-to-use access to the Internet and the option to customize information delivered to the handset.

The new communications store will be open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and on Sunday, from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. A staff of full-time professionals will be available to help customers make decisions about calling plans and select phones and accessories, including headsets and hands-free devices.

Verizon Wireless has 43 communications stores serving the Carolinas. As Carolinians shop for wireless service and accessories, Verizon Wireless offers the following tips:

Consider how the phone will be used. Think about where most calls will be made and how often the phone will be used, so you can select the best regional or national plan. Look for a service provider with a high quality coast-to-coast network in the areas the phone will be used and one that offers nationwide flat-rate pricing plans, such as Verizon Wireless' SingleRateSM with no roaming or long distance charges.

Shop smart for the latest digital service. Digital service offers an array of advanced features like extended battery life, enhanced security, voice mail and Caller ID. Verizon Wireless recently introduced an innovative offering, New Every Two, where customers can trade in their wireless phones for new ones valued up to $100 when they renew their two-year contract on a $35 service plan or higher. New Every Two ensures users always have up-to-date equipment with the latest technology.
