ROCHESTER, NY — Verizon Wireless has named Gene Fassett executive director of network for the wireless carrier's Upstate New York region. In his new position, Fassett will be responsible for directing the design, implementation, and performance of the wireless carrier's Upstate New York region network.
"Gene brings us extensive experience in the wireless industry," said Tracy Nolan, president of Verizon Wireless' Upstate New York Region. "His technical knowledge and management skills will be valuable assets as he directs the growth and performance of our network across Upstate New York."
Fassett attended the State University of New York at Morrisville and Oregon State University. Most recently he was director of engineering and operations in the Buffalo/Rochester area for another wireless company.
Verizon Wireless' Upstate New York Region covers a 36,000 square mile area, including the largest digital footprint in Upstate New York. The wireless carrier has 57 retail locations - the most extensive network of company-owned retail stores in Upstate New York - and more than 800 employees across the state.
