Verizon Wireless Opens New Communications Center In Highland Park

HIGHLAND PARK, MI — As part of Verizon Wireless' ongoing commitments to providing enhanced convenience to its customers and the revitalization of urban areas, the company recently opened a new retail store in Highland Park, Michigan. The 2,000-square-foot store is located in the Model T Plaza, a retail center built in 1997 alongside the historic site of Ford Motor Company's first plant, which produced the Model T.

Located at 14126 Woodward Avenue, the store has created six new jobs and provides a wide range of wireless communications products and services to this densely populated area. The new location features a premier line of digital wireless phones in all price ranges as well as data products and hands-free calling accessories.

"Accessibility was a key factor in choosing the location," says Wayne White, president - Michigan Region, Verizon Wireless. "There are more than 540,000 residents within a five mile radius of our new Verizon Wireless store, many of whom are wireless phone users. With the strong customer base and geographic centrality, we felt a clear connection to this site, as it gives us another opportunity to be close to our customers."

As the first wireless carrier to open a location in Highland Park, Verizon Wireless has introduced a fresh retail concept to the community. Customers will see an updated look within this new store, reflective of the evolution of the wireless phone industry and ever-changing needs of its customers. Specialized topic areas and interactive displays such as "driving safety," "wireless internet" and "accessories" make it easier to find products, services and information that is important to a wide range of wireless phone users.

The Highland Park grand opening brings the total number of Verizon Wireless stores and kiosks in Michigan to 42, employing more than 350 people statewide.
