SEATTLE, WA — In response to growing demand for its communications products and services, Verizon Wireless has opened its newest retail kiosk at 600 Fifth Avenue South, in the Uwajimaya Village, in Seattle. The sales kiosk features a wide variety of wireless products and services, including a premier line of price plans, digital wireless phones, data products and hands-free calling accessories. All products and services are backed by the Verizon Wireless Worry Free GuaranteeSM - a promise of satisfaction on all wireless equipment - and the option to change plans if customers are not satisfied, without paying penalties or fees.

As part of the Grand Opening celebration, radio station KYPT 106.1 FM will broadcast live at the new Verizon Wireless Kiosk on Saturday, June 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. Promotions during the weekend include:

  • Customers will receive a special promotional offer of 250 additional minutes on their first month of service when they sign up for any DigitalChoice service plan (not available on FamilyShare Plans) on Saturday or Sunday, June 23 and 24;

  • The first 20 visitors who stop by the kiosk between 2 and 4 p.m. on June 23 will receive a free ticket to Titanic: The Artifact Exhibit at the Pacific Science Center;

  • Any customer activating a new line of service during the weekend will receive a free poster of the band *NSYNC. Verizon Wireless is co-sponsoring the *NSYNC 2001 POPODYSSEY Tour throughout the U.S. this summer in an effort to reach out to the youth market and their parents. Concerts in the west are scheduled in Denver; San Diego, Phoenix, Oakland, Pasadena, CA and Las Vegas;

  • And, anyone visiting the kiosk will be eligible enter to win four tickets to the Mariners-Chicago White Sox game on August 10.

In addition to opening the new kiosk, Verizon Wireless is making a major investment in the network that supports wireless communications in the region.

"We're investing more than $50 million in our Western Washington network this year," said Kelley Kurtzman, president of Verizon Wireless' Pacific Northwest Region. "This effort to build on the quality and coverage of our network, coupled with the opening of new Verizon Wireless Communications stores and kiosks located throughout the Seattle area, affords Puget Sound residents numerous convenient locations to shop for Verizon Wireless' superior network service and variety of service plans."

Jim James is Manager of the Uwajimaya Village Kiosk. The new sales kiosk is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
