NEW YORK — Verizon residential customers in New York and Massachusetts can now consolidate their local, long-distance, wireless, high-speed Internet access and optional services on a single bill.

The company is sending postcards to customers in the states this week telling them they may be eligible to consolidate their billing. To sign up for ONE-BILL®, customers must have accounts in the same name and good credit records with both Verizon and Verizon Wireless. Customers in the New York City area already have the ONE-BILL option.

"We know our customers want the convenience of a single bill for their telecommunications services," said Jill Wagner, vice president of consumer marketing for Verizon. "They want to be able to see charges for all services on one monthly statement, and they want to write one check. Our goal is to simplify their lives. It's one of the benefits consumers want the most from today's fully competitive telecommunications marketplace."

"Today's wireless customer expects end-to-end convenience. From the technology that delivers the service, to the bill that provides the detail, we are pleased to offer this one-step option to our customers," said John Stratton, vice president and chief marketing officer of Verizon Wireless.

Eventually, the company plans to make the single bill available to all Verizon customers.

Those ONE-BILL customers who have registered at Verizon's newly redesigned Web site, www.verizon.com, using their home or business Verizon phone bill, can view all their Verizon charges on-line - including Verizon Wireless charges - and they can pay their ONE-BILL electronically via the Web.

To find out if they are eligible and to order Verizon's ONE-BILL, Verizon customers can go to the company's Web site at www.verizon.com/ONE-BILL; or local and wireless customers can call 1-800-654-8145 toll-free, long-distance customers can call 1-888-538-8406 toll-free. There is no charge to receive the consolidated bill.
