NEW YORK, NY — Verizon Wireless has expanded service coverage in Brooklyn with a new cell site in the Bensonhurst section and one near Ocean Parkway.

"The new cell sites will provide customers who live in and travel through these areas with greater wireless network coverage and increased clarity when making wireless calls," said Heidi Hemmer, Verizon Wireless Director of Engineering in metropolitan New York.

The Bensonhurst site improves service on Bay Parkway from Bensonhurst Park to 86th Street, and on Cropsey Avenue from 19th to 24th Streets.

The other new site enhances wireless calling on Ocean Parkway between Avenue U and Avenue Z.

The new sites are part of a $4 billion investment program this year to improve and extend the reach of the Verizon Wireless nationwide network. More than $300 million of that investment is being used to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless products and services in the New York Metro area.
