NASHVILLE, TN — Verizon Wireless customers in northern Columbia now have access to the highest quality, most advanced wireless service as a result of technology deployed by Verizon Wireless.

"With the addition of digital service, we are now able to provide more comprehensive service to our northern Columbia customers than ever before," said Paula Durham, Verizon Wireless' South Middle Tennessee retail general manager. "We believe our customers will embrace the benefits of digital service."

Columbia customers will now be able to take advantage of improved and extended digital coverage in the area north of Columbia to Spring Hill, Tenn., and clearer and wider-ranging reception and batteries that last much longer due to the lower power levels required for digital phones. Customers can also enjoy MobileWeb™ service with e-mail, Mobile IP and Mobile Office to connect to the Internet using a laptop and convenient price plans such as the new America's Choice plan, with the best combination of geographic coverage and talk time made-to-order for wireless users.

Although the company has introduced digital service in northern Columbia, Durham noted that the company's dual-mode digital phones will still work in those portions of the network operating in analog mode.
