DELMAR, DE — Verizon Wireless has enhanced digital wireless service throughout Delmar with the addition of a new digital cell site on Route 13. Using code division multiple access (CDMA) digital technology, the site will provide improved wireless coverage to Routes 13 and 54. Specifically, digital coverage on Route 13 will be enhanced throughout the Gordy Road and Delaware/Maryland border; and Route 54 coverage will span the Susan Beach Road and Guy Ward Road intersections.

CDMA wireless technology provides wireless users with greater call clarity and security, longer battery life and talk time and the ability to use advanced wireless services such as text messaging and Express Network, which provides the fastest Internet service available, with bursts up to 144 kilobits per second.

The new cell site is part of a $4 billion investment program in 2001 to improve and extend the reach of the Verizon Wireless nationwide network. More than $100 million of that investment was used to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless products and services in the Philadelphia Tri-State area.
