Verizon Wireless has made international calling simple and affordable. Beginning June 15, International Long Distance from Verizon Wireless will give customers the convenience of wireless service and affordable rates for all international calls placed from their home calling area. When customers sign up for International Long Distance, calls from a Verizon Wireless coverage area to more than 160 countries are charged at either $0.65 per minute or $1.50 per minute depending on the country, plus airtime minutes. Calls to Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Nepal, and Vietnam are only $1.50 long-distance per minute, plus airtime minutes. Verizon Wireless [FREEUP] prepaid wireless service, helps customers keep their budgets in check when calling overseas from their [FREEUP] calling area. [FREEUP] offers competitive low rates with expanded International Dialing, giving customers the ability to call nearly 100 countries for $0.50 per minute, plus airtime. With low domestic rates as well, [FREEUP] is a thoughtful gift for the recent grad to help them stay in touch with friends in the United States or abroad. And until July 31, 2002, customers who sign up for [FREEUP] with a Verizon Wireless [SETUP] package will get 200 Bonus Weekend minutes. For people who plan to travel overseas this year, Verizon Wireless International Travelersm provides a way to keep in touch with family, friends, and business associates. Verizon Wireless International Traveler with service provided by Rent-A-Phone Limited, a licensed Vodafone reseller, provides access to over 200 wireless networks worldwide in over 130 countries. Customers can either rent or purchase a phone that will work on the Global System Mobile (GSM) or Personal Digital Cellular (PDC) wireless networks outside the United States. Calls to a customer's Verizon Wireless phone number can be delivered to their international phone as they travel in many countries throughout Europe, the former USSR States, Asia, Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. Customers may rent a GSM or PDC phone for $2.99 per day, or purchase a GSM phone for $149 or a GSM data capable model for $249. Airtime rates are $1.49 per minute from most countries and $2.49 from Russia, former USSR states, Kenya, Nigeria, Syria, and Japan; with no additional long distance or roaming charges.
