MORRISTOWN, NJ — North Hampton County resident Mark A. Funka, system performance manager for Verizon Wireless, has received the company's President's Award for Excellence, which recognizes employees for exceptional teamwork, leadership and outstanding customer service.
Funka was honored for his leadership role in network capacity planning. He managed the deployment of a new antenna system to enhance network service in the northern New Jersey area. The project was part of a multi-billion dollar investment by the company over the past two years to improve and extend the reach of the Verizon Wireless nationwide network and meet the continuing demand for wireless services.
Funka was one of 11 Verizon Wireless employees to receive the honor at the company's recent regional kickoff meeting.
