Katy, Texas Gets a "Houston Texan"-Size Cheer During Grand Opening of New Verizon Wireless Store

KATY, TX — As demand for wireless services grows, Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, is keeping up by opening a new store in Katy, Texas. Located at 1122 Fry Road Drive at I-10, the Verizon Wireless store held its official grand opening on Sunday, July 28.

In conjunction with the celebration, Houston Texan linebacker Jamie Sharper and Houston Texans Cheerleaders were at the store signing autographs and taking pictures with guests. The Houston Texans are the newest addition to NFL sports and Verizon Wireless is the "Official Wireless Provider of the Houston Texans."

"Our superb customer service, superior network, calling plans and phones are the reasons Verizon Wireless continues to be the leader in the wireless industry," says Katherine Greene, Houston/Gulf Coast region president of Verizon Wireless. "In addition, our partnership with the Houston Texans will further enhance our place in the Houston community as a first-rate company."

In preparation for the upcoming football season, Verizon Wireless will give away a trip for two to see the Houston Texans play in San Diego on September 15. Fans can register to win at the new Katy store or at any participating Verizon Wireless store.

Verizon Wireless is the six-year recipient of the J.D. Power and Associates customer satisfaction award in Houston* and was the first carrier to launch the fastest national high-speed wireless data network, Express NetworkSM, both in Houston and nationally. Express Network is available to customers at the new Katy store and offers wireless Internet access speeds ranging from 40 kbps (dial-up modem speeds) to 60 kbps with data speeds capable of 144 kbps (approaching DSL speeds).

Store hours at the new Katy Verizon Wireless store are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Verizon Wireless also operates another store in Katy located in Katy Mills Mall at 25018 Market Place.
