LAS VEGAS, NV — Today at the CTIA Wireless IT and Internet 2002 Show, Gateway, Inc. (NYSE:GTW) launches its Mobile Wireless Solution that uses Verizon Wireless' Express NetworkSM. Available this week in the Las Vegas, Dallas and Houston areas, the new Gateway service gives mobile professionals access to their data on the road via a wireless Internet connection. Gateway is rolling out the new service to additional markets this year and nationally by mid-2003.

The Gateway Mobile Wireless Solution will give businesses a single source for their mobile computing and connectivity needs, including service, installation, integration, security and equipment. Through Verizon Wireless' Express Network, Gateway customers can connect wirelessly to their e-mail, corporate data and the Internet at average speeds between 40 and 60 kpbs-similar to or better than a home dial-up connection.

"Just as wireless phones keep mobile professionals in touch by voice, Gateway's Mobile Wireless Solution will keep them connected to important data," said Mark Steele, vice president, wireless solutions, Gateway, Inc. "Gateway is poised to extend its value to small and medium business customers by being the one-stop shop for their mobile and wireless computing needs."

Salespeople, real estate agents and other professionals who spend significant time away from the office often return with a backlog of e-mails and work waiting. With Gateway's Mobile Wireless Solution, on-the-go professionals can check e-mail, conduct research on the Web and access their corporate network wirelessly from their laptop so they can remain productive, even while out of the office.

According to DJ Hulet, vice president of national distribution for Verizon Wireless, "Since we launched Express Network, it has proven to be a valuable tool for enterprise customers. With Gateway's national network of retail stores, national telesales and their B-to-B channels focusing on small and medium businesses, we can reach out to new customers to demonstrate the freedom, flexibility and added productivity they can experience with Express Network."

As part of the Gateway Mobile Wireless Solution, Gateway is offering several different Verizon Wireless Express Network plans to meet a range of business needs. Business customers can rely on Gateway advisors and can go to (http://www.gateway.com/work/products/wireless/index.shtml) to learn more about the plans and wireless wide area networks.

Gateway Mobile Wireless Solution customers can sign up for the Verizon Wireless pricing plan that best suits their needs. For just $99.99(1) per month, customers can enjoy unlimited access to the Verizon Wireless Express Network with some restrictions. The Express Network is also available in time-based and megabyte-usage plans, ideally suited for businesses that have a solid understanding of how many minutes of wireless access or the amount of data they will need. Time-based plans start at $35(1) for 150 minutes per month. The megabyte plans also start at $35(1) for 10MB of data sent and received per month.

Once service is activated, getting started is quick and easy. The Gateway Wireless Solution includes the Sierra Wireless AirCard 555 to connect a notebook or PCMCIA-enabled PDA to the Verizon Wireless Express Network.
