BEDMINSTER, NJ and ANNAPOLIS, MD — Verizon Wireless and TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS) today announced a new service, Office Message Alert, that provides Verizon Wireless customers with a short text message (SMS) notification on their wireless phone to alert them to a new voice message on their office phone. The service, powered by application software developed by TCS, provides for a one-button reply to the corporate voicemail system using a call back number embedded in the SMS message.

Verizon Wireless' Office Message Alert makes message retrieval and reply seamless for telecommuters and for those who are traveling, while virtually eliminating the need to call in to voicemail just to check for new messages. Office Message Alert is a conduit to provide legacy voicemail systems a means of facilitating message-waiting indication via SMS. In addition, the service provides a centralized platform for administering access across any number of different voicemail systems to support all systems that have out call notification with dual tone multi-frequency capability.

"The changing face of how employees work makes Office Message Alert a natural complement and integral part of voicemail. With more workers telecommuting, traveling or otherwise out of the office, being connected to voicemail is fundamental to doing business," said John Comisky, Verizon Wireless vice president of marketing operations.

"Corporate message waiting notification enables wireless carrier subscribers to enjoy the benefits of being mobile without having to wonder if that red message light is flashing on their phone at work," said Timothy Lorello, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of TCS. "We are pleased to be selected by Verizon Wireless as a partner in both the development and launch of this exciting new service."
