WALNUT CREEK, CA — Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, has appointed Michael Flanagan to serve as director of business sales for the company's Northern California/Nevada region. In his new position, Michael will lead, plan and direct sales of wireless communications and information products and services to businesses throughout the region.

"Michael takes on his new position at the perfect time," said Northern California/Nevada Region President Tony Simpson. "Our Express NetworkSM provides high-speed data service in more than 900 cities throughout the nation. In addition, we recently introduced Get It NowSM, a service that enables Verizon Wireless customers to download software applications directly to enabled wireless phones. Michael is excited about what we have to offer and our opportunities to attract and serve customers."

Michael is based in Walnut Creek, California. Prior to joining the company, he served first as director-Field Operations, then area director-Business Sales for the Northern California and Hawaii markets for Sprint PCS. He was District General Manager for AirTouch Cellular's Messaging Division in Fresno, CA, before joining Sprint PCS. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fresno.
