BEDMINSTER, NJ — Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider and a leader in mobile data, today announced the start of its TXT2WINSM Cool Prizes Sweepstakes on February 1st. Entering the sweepstakes is as easy as ABC - customers with a two-way text-messaging capable phone need to just send a TXT message with the word "win" then pressing "8 9 8" and then the "send" button to be entered to win fabulous prizes including a fun-in-the-sun trip for two to Cancun, one of 40 Motorola T720 Get It NowSM-enabled color handsets, or one of 40 $100 Verizon Wireless gift certificates.
Four prize drawings will be held: On February 14 and 28, on March 14 and on April 11, 2003. Verizon Wireless customers can enter the sweepstakes as often as they like - one entry per TXT message only. To celebrate the start of the sweepstakes and the growing trend of short text messaging, Verizon Wireless is offering a TXT dictionary of clichés that describe the sweepstakes to a T.

Customers who sign up for TXT Messaging, Verizon Wireless' short text messaging service, through March 31, 2003 will receive unlimited TXT messages and alerts for just $2.99 per month until June 30, 2003. After the promotional period, customers will be allowed 100 messages per month at $2.99 per month with excess messages charged at $.02 received and $.10 sent. For TXT2WIN, each TXT message entry sent by Verizon Wireless customers will count against customers' TXT message bundle, or be billed at $.10 each.
