Delaware County Domestic Abuse Organization Donates 80 Phones To Verizon Wireless’ “HopeLine” Program

MEDIA, PA — Representatives from the Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County recently presented 80 no-longer-used wireless phones to Paul Harnden, assistant manger of the Verizon Wireless Communications Store in the Granite Run Mall in Media, Delaware County. The phones were donated to the Verizon Wireless' HopeLineSM program, which distributes recycled wireless phones to victims of domestic violence, supports nonprofit domestic violence advocacy groups and provides an environmentally-friendly method for recycling phones. The collected phones will be refurbished and recycled or sold to benefit local victims of domestic violence.
As a result of HopeLine and related phone recycling programs the company has organized since 1995, Verizon Wireless has collected over one million used wireless phones for the benefit of domestic violence victims and advocacy groups, including nearly 10,000 wireless handsets in the Philadelphia Tri-State region.
