BEDMINSTER, NJ — Verizon Wireless reports that call volumes on its nationwide network are normal and customer calls and text messages continue to go through.

In the power-affected areas of the 5 boroughs of New York City, Detroit and Cleveland:

  • VERIZON WIRELESS ENCOURAGES CUSTOMERS TO MAKE CALLS AND SEND TEXT MESSAGES. Any isolated service outages that remain, due to cell sites exceeding back-up power, continue to be resolved as commercial power is restored. All switches continue to be working and processing calls.
  • The company's retail stores are all open for business, except for a handful in areas where commercial power is not yet restored.
  • Customer service is operating normally.
