Verizon Wireless Expands Digital Service in Westchester County, New York

ORANGEBURG, NY — In a continuing effort to provide the best wireless service for local residents, Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, has expanded its digital network in Westchester County with three new cell sites. They improve wireless calling in Bronxville on the Bronx River Parkway, Route 87 and the Cross County Parkway; in North Yonkers on the Saw Mill River Parkway and Palmer Road, and in Croton-on-Hudson along Route 9 from Sleepy Hollow Road through Old Croton Trailway State Park.

The new cell sites are part of the company's aggressive multi-billion dollar network investment each year to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless voice and data services. During the second quarter, the company added 1.3 million net new customers nationwide and expects to add a total of four million customers in 2003. Investing in its high quality digital voice and data network is part of the company's commitment to offer customers the most reliable service available on the nation's largest wireless network. The company's 'most reliable network claim' is based on network studies performed by real-life test men and test women who inspired the company's national advertising campaign. They conduct more than 300,000 call attempts monthly on Verizon Wireless' and other national wireless carriers' networks while traveling over 100,000 miles nationwide in specially equipped company-owned quality test vehicles.
