BEDMINSTER, NJ — Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless carrier, was named one of Working Mother magazine's "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" for the third consecutive year. The company was the only wireless company to receive the honor this year. The annual list recognizes corporations that offer programs and services that fulfill the needs of working mothers.
Verizon Wireless received this honor because of its healthy and accommodating working environment for women, the magazine said in its October issue.
"At Verizon Wireless, we have a strong commitment to our employees. Their hard work built the nation's largest and best wireless network. And it's their hard work, both today and tomorrow, that ensures America will have the best wireless services possible. As society changes, so do the needs of our employees, and we pride ourselves on being up to date with the times and the needs of our work force. We are excited to see our hard work recognized and appreciate this acknowledgment from Working Mother," said Marc Reed, vice president of human resources for Verizon Wireless.
