ATLANTA, GA — Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading provider of wireless communications services, announces the expansion of its network between Macon and Milledgeville as part of its continuing effort to provide superior service to its customers. Now Verizon Wireless customers that travel between the two cities using either State Highway 22 or 49 will have access to America's largest, most advanced, wireless network.

"Verizon Wireless invested nearly $1 billion in the South Area alone in 2003" said Jim McGean, region president. "This investment is in direct response to the remarkable growth in the demand for our wireless service. We will continue to answer the call of our customers to expand our network and deliver the highest-quality, most technologically advanced digital network possible."

Verizon Wireless offers the largest, most reliable network nationwide. With the network expansion between Macon and Milledgeville, customers in the area that have taken advantage of the company's America's Choice plan will enjoy access to a network that covers 90 percent of the U.S. population, with no roaming or long-distance charges. Further, Verizon Wireless relies solely upon CDMA technology — considered one of the most reliable wireless communications platforms — for enhanced clarity and dependability.
