LOS ANGELES, CA — Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless service provider, is giving basketball fans a break by presenting customers with discount admission coupons to the NBA All-Star Jam Session — the world's largest interactive basketball theme park featuring over 350,000 square feet of non-stop NBA All-Star entertainment at the Los Angeles Convention Center South Hall on February 12-16, 2004. Fans can also check out the latest services and wirelessly vote for various MVPs and winners of NBA competitions throughout the 2004 NBA All-Star activities. The $5-off admission coupons are available in all of its Los Angeles-area Communications Stores.

And because a picture is worth a thousand words, customers can stop by the Verizon Wireless tent during the NBA All-Star Jam Session and try out picture messaging on the newest Verizon Wireless full-featured camera phones. While there, customers can enter a raffle for cool NBA gear, or register to vote for the 2004 NBA All-Star MVP.

Customers who can't make it down to the NBA All-Star Jam Session or the NBA All-Star Game can still have their say by registering to vote for the All-Star Game MVP with Verizon Wireless TXT Messaging. On All-Star game day, fans can vote with a TXT message ballot sent to their Verizon Wireless phone during the game. Customers also have the opportunity to vote on other NBA All-Star events including, the 2004 got milk? Rookie Challenge MVP and participate in the Sprite Rising Stars Slam Dunk Poll. All week long leading up to NBA All-Star Weekend customers were able to register to receive All-Star themed trivia questions sent right to their phones.

To register, send the TXT message "N-B-A" to "6-2-2" and hit SEND. Verizon Wireless customers will be charged according to their calling plans. Fans can also log on and pre-register their mobile numbers to participate at NBA.com.

TXT Messaging from Verizon Wireless makes it easy to chat about and participate in the games — customers can pay as they go for TXT Messaging, which is just $0.02 for each message received and $0.10 for each message sent, or select from bundled plans for $2.99 per month for 100 messages, $4.99 per month for 250 messages and $9.99 per month for 1,000 messages sent or received. Verizon Wireless Prepay service customers can also join the excitement - prepay customers with text messaging-capable phones can send and receive messages for just $0.05 each.

From now through May 9, 2004, customers signing up for a $4.99 monthly access plan can double their messages to 500 TXT Messages or 80 Picture Messages through December 31, 2005. Customers who choose both will be billed $7.99 monthly access for 500 TXT messages and 80 Picture Messages, a $2.00 monthly savings through December 31, 2005.

Verizon Wireless products and services are available in more than 1,200 Verizon Wireless Communications Stores, at participating Circuit City and RadioShack locations and on the Web at www.verizonwireless.com.
