BEDMINSTER, NJ — Whether watching the final games at home or traveling to San Antonio to watch live tournament action, college basketball fans can use Verizon Wireless TXT Messaging and Mobile IM to experience the basketball championship madness. Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless service provider and operator of the most reliable wireless network, enables fans to keep up-to-date on all of the final games' actions — from tip-off to the final basket — and share the excitement with friends and classmates from virtually anywhere.

On Verizon Wireless' TXT Messaging companion Web site, vtext.com, Verizon Wireless customers can sign up for TXT Alerts to get the latest tournament scores, news updates and facts sent directly to their wireless phones. TXT Messaging also allows college basketball fanatics to stay connected with friends, family and former classmates watching from different locations. Verizon Wireless customers can send a TXT message to celebrate a blocked shot (Xo) or a slam-dunk (SD!) — or to laugh about an air ball (AR BL).

Die-hard fans can share their predictions, cheers and jeers by joining TXT communities created by others across the country who share the same college basketball passion. Fans can also form their own private TXT communities with friends and family to discuss the games.

Customers can pay as they go for TXT Messaging, which is just $0.02 for each message received and $0.10 for each message sent, or select from bundled plans for $2.99 per month for 100 messages sent and/or received and $3.99 per month for 200 messages sent and/or received. For a limited time, Verizon Wireless customers that sign up for TXT Messaging can get 500 TXT Messages for just $4.99 per month through December 31, 2005.

Verizon Wireless' Mobile IM service also brings the rich experience of instant messaging right to fans' handsets, so they can IM friends and family about the games — even when they are away from their PCs. Customers need an existing IM account with MSN Messenger or AOL® Instant Messenger to use the service. With Mobile IM from Verizon Wireless, customers can communicate instantly with everyone on their contact lists.

To use Mobile IM, customers download the Mobile IM application — in the Get It Now® virtual store under "What's New" and then under the getMESSAGING shopping aisle — to their wireless handsets. To sign up for a MSN Messenger or AOL Instant Messenger account, customers can visit the respective Web sites from their PC at http://messenger.msn.com or www.aim.com.

Except for airtime used during the download process, there is no charge to download the Mobile IM application, but each IM sent or received will be charged as appropriate as TXT messages. Download charges for Get It Now applications vary and airtime charges apply when browsing, downloading and using certain applications. Customers need a Get It Now-enabled handset and Verizon Wireless digital service to access the Get It Now virtual store. For more information, visit www.verizonwireless.com/getitnow.

Get It Now- and TXT Messaging-capable phones can be purchased at more than 1,200 Verizon Wireless Communications Stores throughout the country, at participating Circuit City and RadioShack locations, or online at www.verizonwireless.com.
