DALLAS, TX — As part of a commitment to Dallas inner-city youth and the arts, Verizon Wireless presents an evening with Erykah Badu on Thursday, April 15 at 8 p.m. The benefit concert will support Badu's Dallas-based non-profit foundation, Beautiful Love Incorporated Nonprofit Development (B.L.I.N.D.). Hosted at Gilley's in Dallas, the event will also feature a guest performance by jazz great Roy Ayers.
"Recognizing how important the arts are to inner-city youth, Verizon Wireless is proud to support Badu's commitment to the community and to help raise awareness for her efforts," said Gary Riding, region president for Verizon Wireless.
Proceeds from the evening will go towards B.L.I.N.D's efforts to renovate the Black Forest Theater, a historic Dallas landmark in South Dallas that provides performing arts opportunities for inner-city youth of Dallas through music, dance, theater and visual arts.
Badu will perform Thursday, April 15 at 8 p.m. at Gilley's, located at 1135 South Lamar in Dallas. Tickets are available at Gilley's box office or by visiting www.gilleysdallas.com.
