Verizon Wireless Enhances Service in Western South Dakota

New Cell Sites Activated For Belle Fourche and Interstate 90 Near Blackhawk

RAPID CITY, SD — Verizon Wireless today announced the addition of two new cell sites that will enhance coverage for travelers and residents in the Black Hills area of South Dakota. The I-90 site is located near Blackhawk and improves coverage heading north of the city toward Piedmont and south toward Rapid City. The Belle Fourche site, located on the western edge of town, will enhance coverage within the city limits and south along U.S. Highway 85 for travelers to Spearfish.

"These sites are part of our commitment to improving our network by building 16 new cell sites across South Dakota this year, double the number we activated in 2003," said Viki L. Radden, president — Great Plains Region, Verizon Wireless. "Each year we invest in network enhancements to provide an outstanding customer experience. In 2003, for instance, we invested $27 million in our South Dakota network and this year we will also make a significant investment."
