BEDMINSTER, NJ — Who will be the 2004 Finals MVP? Using their two-way TXT messaging capable phones, Verizon Wireless customers can help decide by participating in Destination Finals TXT Play. Verizon Wireless and the National Basketball Association are calling on all Verizon Wireless customers with two-way TXT messaging capable phones and digital service to help determine which player is named the Official MVP of The Finals, which begin on Sunday, June 6 at 8:30 p.m. ET and air live on ABC. Not only does each wireless vote count toward naming the official MVP of The Finals, but with each vote placed during any NBA Finals deciding game participating Verizon Wireless customers will also automatically be entered for a chance to win fantastic prizes, including a $10,000 RadioShack gift card, one-hundred $100 RadioShack gift cards and Finals merchandise.*

To save time on game day, fans can join the thousands who have already pre-registered for the wireless voting directly from their Verizon Wireless phones by sending the TXT message "NBA" to 622 and hitting SEND. Fans can also log on and pre-register for the voting at www.nba.com.

Once the MVP candidates have been nominated during the potential series-deciding Finals game, the ballots will be sent directly to all pre-registrants' phones. Fans who do not pre-register can send the TXT message "NBA" to 622 from their Verizon Wireless phones during the game and cast their ballot at NBA.com.

All votes received through Verizon Wireless' TXT Messaging and www.nba.com will be calculated in real time and will count toward selecting the official 2004 MVP of The Finals. Verizon Wireless customers helped select the Los Angeles Lakers Shaquille O' Neal and San Antonio Spurs Tim Duncan as Finals MVP's in 2002 and 2003, respectively.

Registered customers can also elect to receive daily NBA trivia questions during non-series deciding Finals games. Verizon Wireless customers can pay as they go for TXT Messaging $0.02 for each message received and $0.10 for each message sent, or select from bundled plans for $2.99 per month for 100 messages, $3.99 per month for 200 messages and $7.99 per month for 600 messages sent or received. Verizon Wireless Prepay service customers can also join the excitement - Prepay customers with TXT messaging-capable phones can send and receive messages for just $0.05 each.
