BEDMINSTER, N.J. and LOS ANGELES and SAN MATEO, CA — Mobile sports fans rejoice -- the new Mobile Web 2.0SM service from Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless service provider, features unlimited access to sports scores, news, schedules and standings from FOX Sports Interactive Media, a leader in sports programming and content, and Sorrent, a leading mobile entertainment publisher. With a Mobile Web 2.0-enabled phone, Verizon Wireless customers have access to the latest news, sports, weather, entertainment, business and directory information at their fingertips.

Verizon Wireless customers can click on the Sports link on the new Mobile Web 2.0 menu to access up-to-the-minute sports scores, news, schedules and standings from FOX Sports. "FOX Sports is the sports leader and provides the full range wireless sports products our customers demand -- from news to games," said Jim Straight, vice president of wireless Internet and multimedia services for Verizon Wireless. "The unique sports storefront from FOX Sports and Sorrent on our Mobile Web 2.0 service provides one-stop-shopping for sports fans on the go."

Mobile Web 2.0 is available for $4.99 monthly access, plus airtime, and is self-provisioning, eliminating the need for customers to call customer service or visit a Verizon Wireless Communications Store to sign up for the service. Customers simply register for the service right from their Mobile Web 2.0-capable handsets.

Verizon Wireless' Mobile Web 2.0 is initially available on the new LG VX7000 camera phone and on the LG VX4500. The LG VX7000 is available for $179.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate with a two-year customer agreement; the LG VX4500 is available for $89.99 with a two-year customer agreement after a $30 mail-in rebate.
