BEDMINSTER, NJ and SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless service provider, announced today that Weathernews' distinctive weather content is available on Mobile Web 2.0 SM -- Verizon Wireless' new service that gives customers the latest news, sports, weather, entertainment, business and shopping information at their fingertips. Verizon Wireless customers with select Mobile Web 2.0-enabled phones can now take customized weather information, including up-to-date forecasts and radar images, with them wherever they go.

Weathernews provides a range of services that keep Verizon Wireless customers informed of current and future weather conditions, including weather information for over 60,000 forecast locations around the world, current conditions and 5-day forecasts and radar images. The My Weather feature allows customers to save one city as their favorite location for quick reference. Customers can also search for weather and forecasts by city name, zip code or browse the major city list.

"Weathernews' content on Mobile Web 2.0 has been designed to deliver immediate and relevant weather information at a glance to our customers," said Jim Straight, vice president of wireless Internet and multimedia services for Verizon Wireless. "Weathernews has a strong track record of delivering wireless weather, and we are pleased to make their service available for our launch of our new Mobile Web 2.0 service."

Verizon Wireless customers with Mobile Web 2.0-capable devices can access Weathernews information and updates from their mobile phones under the Weather category on the new Mobile Web 2.0 menu. Mobile Web 2.0 is available for $4.99 monthly access, plus airtime, and is self provisioning, eliminating the need for customers to call customer service or visit a Verizon Wireless Communications Store to sign up for the service. Customers simply register for the service right from their Mobile Web 2.0-capable handsets.

Verizon Wireless' Mobile Web 2.0 is initially available on the new LG VX7000 camera phone and on the LG VX4500. The LG VX7000 is available for $179.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate with a two-year customer agreement; the LG VX4500 is available for $89.99 with a two-year customer agreement after a $30 mail-in rebate.
