BEDMINSTER, NJ and ALISO VIEJO, CA — Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless provider, today announced Smith Micro Software Inc. (Nasdaq: SMSI), a developer and marketer of software and service solutions for the wireless market, has added support for Verizon Wireless' new VZAccess Manager, a customizable tool that lets customers manage their remote access needs across the country. This new tool is a single, unified application supporting Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess (EV-DO) and NationalAccess (1xRTT) data services and customers' own Wi-Fi and dial-up via IS95A networks. VZAccess Manager will ship on select PC Cards and be included in Verizon Wireless' Mobile Office Kits.

VZAccess Manager uses technology from Smith Micro and is easy to install and use. The new design enhances the customer experience with added features such as a VPN connection and other functionality that can be launched directly from the main application.

Under the terms of an extension to the previous multi-year agreement, Verizon Wireless is offering VZAccess Manager to provide connectivity between the carrier's BroadbandAccess and NationalAccess networks, as well as customers' Wi-Fi technology.

Verizon Wireless' remote access management solutions use Smith Micro's QuickLink® Mobile software that offers anytime access to email, file uploads/downloads, Web surfing and corporate Intranets without being plugged into a network or landline modem connection. VZAccess Manager includes installation assistance that automatically detects the mobile device, BroadbandAccess and NationalAccess PC Cards and Wi-Fi PC Cards -- and sets up the user's computer in minutes.
