BEDMINSTER and SOMERSET, NJ — Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless provider, today announced it has deployed Leapstone Systems' Communications Convergence EngineTM (CCE) contentMANAGER platform, enabling Verizon Wireless to quickly and efficiently deploy high-speed data services and content from numerous partners to meet changing needs of customer segments. The platform also provides Verizon Wireless customer service representatives with easy access to information about data applications and the ability to more quickly answer customer inquiries.

The solution will enable Verizon Wireless to further strengthen its position in the market for downloadable data services -- including its just released Mobile Web 2.0SM and other premium content services -- and enhances its ability to provide customer service for a growing number of data products.

"Our goal is to provide the most flexible IT infrastructure to allow our business to seamlessly integrate third party services and content while also enhancing our industry-leading customer service capabilities. The Leapstone platform is an enabler of this objective," said Tom Madsen, executive director -- Information Technology at Verizon Wireless. "The flexibility of the solution will help us enhance customer growth and satisfaction on several fronts. It provides our customer service representatives with easy access to information to better serve our customer base. It also will significantly reduce our time to market with new applications and enhancements -- as well as reduce costs and improve operational efficiencies as we expand our downloadable data service offerings."

Leapstone's CCE contentMANAGER is a comprehensive system that enhances a network operator's ability to select, manage, market and deliver rich multi-media content and applications. It runs on any operator network and is device independent. Using the CCE contentMANAGER, network operators can support multiple content sources and blend content and applications to offer unique service packages. With a set of standardized interfaces, the CCE contentMANAGER rapidly integrates into a network operator's back office environment to provide complete provisioning, billing, customer care and device management capabilities.

"In addition to broadening Verizon Wireless' data services across video, music and messaging, Leapstone's contentMANAGER solution will enable Verizon Wireless to further build upon its flexible service approach to provide customer service representatives with information right at their fingertips, and deliver content packages that meet its customers' needs," said Rick Orriss, Leapstone CEO. "We're excited to be an integral part of Verizon Wireless' data service infrastructure which is at the leading edge of mobile content delivery. This deployment demonstrates Leapstone's ability to provide comprehensive solutions to world class network operators."
