CANTON, GA — Verizon Wireless, America's best, most reliable wireless network, announces the opening of its newest location in Georgia. The new store, located in Canton at 1548 Riverstone Parkway, is open for business and will hold its official grand opening ceremony on Thursday, November 11 at 10:00 a.m.

The company continues to expand its retail presence to meet the growing demand for wireless products and services and to make wireless shopping more convenient for customers.

"This expansion represents our ongoing commitment to provide our growing Georgia customer base with increased convenience and an accessible, knowledgeable sales staff," said Dean Taylor, director — retail sales, Georgia/Alabama.

As part of the store's grand opening celebration, Verizon Wireless will donate $500 to Cherokee Family Violence Center. The donation is provided through HopeLineSM — Verizon Wireless' exclusive nationwide phone recycling program that distributes previously owned wireless phones to victims of domestic violence, supports non-profit domestic violence advocacy groups and provides an environmentally safe method for recycling phones.

The Safe America Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to community and family safety, will also help celebrate the Verizon Wireless grand opening event. To help teach Canton-area teenagers safe driving techniques, the organization will supply onsite driving simulators, providing an opportunity for teens to "drive" on wet and icy roads, in fog or at night. Instruction is free and will include training in skills of braking, vehicle control and avoiding distractions. Safe America Foundation will be at the new Verizon Wireless location Saturday, November 13, 12:00 — 3:00 pm. All Canton-area teens are encouraged to attend.
