BEDMINSTER, NJ and NEW YORK — Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless service provider, announced today it has expanded its relationship with Warner Music Group (WMG) to bring music from WMG's world-renowned artists and labels to Verizon Wireless customers in master tones and newly launched Ringback Tones. The ground-breaking new Ringback Tones, now available to Verizon Wireless customers in Southern California and Sacramento, are clips of real music that replace the standard ring callers hear when they call the Verizon Wireless phone of a Ringback Tone subscriber. The agreements also provide a framework for joint efforts pertaining to marketing programs.

"Our customers want the hit-makers on their phones — from ringtones to new ringback tones — to help them express their personality and individuality. Our relationship with Warner Music Group allows us to offer our customers a wide array of artists to fit their tastes, including today's superstars, classic favorites and newer artists popular with the college crowd," said Paul Palmieri, executive director of business development for Verizon Wireless.

"We are excited to be one of the first music companies in the U.S. to offer our artists' music for ringback tones. WMG's agreement with Verizon Wireless, complementing our mastertone deal, gives music fans a highly personal way to express themselves with their favorite music and gives our artists an exciting way to connect with their fans," said Michael Nash, senior vice president, Internet strategy and business development at Warner Music Group.

Verizon Wireless products and services are available in more than 1,200 Verizon Wireless Communications Stores, at participating Best Buy, Circuit City and RadioShack locations and on the Web at www.verizonwireless.com.
