Wireless Customers In Davenport, Iowa, Receive Improved Service From Enhanced Network

DAVENPORT, IA — To stay ahead of its growing customer base and demand for its voice and data services, Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Davenport, Iowa, to improve the company's digital network coverage and capacity along E. Locust Street, west of I-74, particularly at locations within the vicinity of Eastern Avenue and Kimberly Road, such as Duck Creek Golf Course.

The new cell site increases the strength of the Verizon Wireless network signal, improves signal penetration into area buildings and enables more customers to use their wireless phones concurrently. As a result, Verizon Wireless customers will experience fewer dropped calls and clearer reception while talking on their wireless phones, handling data applications (such as TXT and Picture Messaging) or downloading games and ring tones with the company's Get It Now® services.

"Over the past few years, our customer base in Davenport has grown and the average number of minutes our customers use their wireless phones has increased, resulting in the need for this new cell site," said Tracy Nolan, region president for Verizon Wireless. Activation of this new cell site is a part of Verizon Wireless' continuous effort to increase capacity and augment the quality of its wireless voice and data network in Iowa and across the country.
