LEAVENWORTH, KS — Verizon Wireless announced today it has activated two new cell sites to provide expanded and improved network coverage throughout the city of Leavenworth. In addition, the company announced they have partnered with Five Star Wireless, making them the exclusive authorized Verizon Wireless agent in the city.
Network Enhancements
The recent enhancements will improve coverage in the following locations:
- Boeppler Road The areas surrounding Metropolitan, 20th, and 10th streets, and along Kansas 192.
- Halderman Street From Eisenhower Road to Miami and Highway 73 to 167th Street.
The network improvements were part of a $91 million investment in 2004 to improve the company's wireless network in the Kansas/Missouri Region.
In addition to improved voice coverage, Leavenworth residents also can take advantage of the company's newly deployed BroadbandAccess service. Powered by an Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) third generation (3G) wide-area network, BroadbandAccess commercial service is the fastest wide-area wireless Internet access service available in the nation, with typical user download speeds of 300-500 kilobits per second (kbps).

We are committed to offering customers the most extensive and reliable wireless voice and data network in the United States."
Authorized Agent, Five Star Wireless
In conjunction with its network improvements, Verizon Wireless announced it has named Five Star Wireless as the its exclusive authorized agent, to provide better customer service to the Leavenworth area.
Five Star Wireless offers new Verizon Wireless service plans and upgrades for existing and potential Verizon Wireless customers. To better assist local military families, Verizon Wireless also offers EZ MoveSM, a national relocation plan designed to help military personnel transfer service plans between regions with ease.
