Verizon Wireless Adding To Connecticut Workforce

Growing Customer Base Leads to Need for 100 More Customer Service Personnel

MERIDEN, CT — Verizon Wireless, the nation's most reliable wireless provider, is expanding its customer service workforce at its Meriden and Wallingford Contact Centers. The two locations are among seven centers that handle customer calls, questions and transactions like phone upgrades and contract renewals for customers from Maine to Virginia.

In 2004, Verizon Wireless experienced record-breaking customer growth and hired hundreds of employees in its Northeast contact center organization to serve those customers. In Connecticut, 100 immediate new full-time job openings were created at the beginning of this year, with 55 Customer Service openings in Wallingford and 10 new Continuity Marketing positions in Meriden remaining. Continuity marketing coordinators focus on customer satisfaction and customer retention.
