ORANGEBURG, NY — In a continuing effort to provide the best wireless service for local residents and commuters in Bergen County, Verizon Wireless, operator of the nation's most reliable wireless network, has expanded its network with two new cell sites.

One site improves coverage in Edgewater and Fort Lee along River Road, Palisade Avenue, and parts of Myrtle Avenue and Undercliff Avenue. The second site enhances service in Saddle River and Upper Saddle River on E. Saddle River Road from Route 90A to Route 287, and on W. Saddle River Road from Route 90A to Midway Road.

New cell sites are part of the company's aggressive multi-billion dollar network investment each year to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless voice and data services. Verizon Wireless invested more than $5.5 billion last year in its wireless network to add coverage and capacity, and to make available wireless data services such as picture messaging, text messaging, and the new V CAST service which brings TV and other multimedia services to wireless phones over the company's high speed wireless broadband network.

Demand for Verizon Wireless services continued during the fourth quarter last year as the company added a record 1.7 million net new customers. Verizon Wireless now serves 43.8 million customers nationwide.

"Customers choose Verizon Wireless and stay with us because they want wireless service they can depend on," said Charles Hand, president of Verizon Wireless' New York Metro Region. "The company's continued investment in its premier wireless network and our strong customer service focus are the drivers behind our industry-leading customer growth and financial performance."

The company's investment in its wireless network also is part of Verizon Wireless' commitment to offer customers the most reliable service available in the nation. The company's 'most reliable network' claim is based on network studies performed by real-life test men and test women who inspired the company's national advertising campaign. The engineers conduct more than 300,000 call attempts monthly on Verizon Wireless' and other national wireless carriers' networks while traveling over 100,000 miles of the most frequently traveled roadways nationwide in specially equipped, company-owned quality test vehicles.*

*Test Man Ride-Along Program
Specially-equipped Verizon Wireless test vehicles simultaneously test the networks of six wireless providers, using a mobile laptop computer to generate phonically diverse "conversations." If you are interested in setting up an interview or ride-along test drive with your local Verizon Wireless test man or woman, please contact David Samberg at 845-365-7212.
